Coyote Economics
The price has gone up from $3,000 to $8,000 in just a short time. That’s a pretty good income for the service provider but provider of what you ask? Well, the coyote of course. Yes, literally, the coyote aka guy who sneaks people into America is making $8,000 per person of untaxed income. The majority of his non-Mexican migrant customers hail from El Salvador, Honduras, and Guatemala. See, the economies in those countries is suffering thus violent crime and drugs trafficking is exploding where street gangs rule the land. El Salvador has a murder rate of 80 per 100,000 people – that’s 10x what the murder rate in the USA is.
You’re cool with MS13 and the driveby shootings of the 1990’s though, right? What’s a little extra inner city economics, right? That’s not to say all the folks who are capable of coughing up a life savings of $8,000 are bad eggs. A typical monthly income in those countries ranges between $100 to $300 per month. Some of those Central American folks are just trying to find a better life – unfortunately, the path to America is riddled with corrupt cops and drug cartels who rape their victims, let the starve, and often let them die of dehydration.
The price for migration literally doubled and then some simply due to the threat of a “Wall.” That wall and the 5-10,000 new immigration officers won’t happen overnight though..and likely not for a few years. Once the migrants figure this out, then the price will drop back down and the influx will jump back up.
